Sojourners Magazine Awards

by Jeannie Choi 05-13-2009

Sojourners magazine received many honors at the joint annual conventions of the Evangelical Press Association (EPA) and the Associated Church Press (ACP) last week in Indianapolis. In fact, for the first time ever, the EPA honored Sojourners with the “Award of Excellence” (first place) as the best general-interest magazine. The ACP also awarded Sojourners first place in its “Best In Class” competition. Overall, Sojourners magazine received 25 awards, including six first-place awards, five second-place awards, and 11 third-place awards.

At Sojourners, we strive to provide our readers with articles that feature quality writing, thought-provoking topics, and robust theological discussion. While the purpose for publishing Sojourners magazine has nothing to do with winning awards, we hope you will join us in celebrating the editors, writers, and artists who contribute to publishing a top-notch collection of articles each month that articulates the biblical call to social justice, inspiring hope and building a movement to transform individuals, communities, the church, and the world.

Comment Code of Conduct

I will express myself with civility, courtesy, and respect for every member of the Sojourners online community, especially toward those with whom I disagree—even if I feel disrespected by them. (Romans 12:17-21)

I will express my disagreements with other community members' ideas without insulting, mocking, or slandering them personally. (Matthew 5:22)

I will not exaggerate others' beliefs nor make unfounded prejudicial assumptions based on labels, categories, or stereotypes. I will always extend the benefit of the doubt. (Ephesians 4:29)

I will hold others accountable by clicking "report" on comments that violate these principles, based not on what ideas are expressed but on how they're expressed. (2 Thessalonians 3:13-15)

I understand that comments reported as abusive are reviewed by Sojourners staff and are subject to removal. Repeat offenders will be blocked from making further comments. (Proverbs 18:7)
