Benedict’s Encyclicals and the couple of book by Ratzinger/Benedict reinforce the Christian principles I learned growing up in the Church and attending parochial schools.<br><br>At a time when the politics of self-interest have attempted to highjack Christianity, Benedict has been a welcome breath of fresh air.<br><br>Caritas in Veritate is long, but well worth reading. I have been impressed by Benedict XVI since his first Encyclical, Deus Caritas Est.
