Wow. What a great conversation. I loved seeing the intimacy of ideas and heart felt mutual respect and admiration between two gentlemen from such culturally contrasting backgrounds. What a model for the rest of us.
I've actually been waiting a long time for Jim to have the opportunity to ask Tavis about his by line. 'Keep the Faith'

Can't wait till Tavis gets the opportunity to do the longer in depth interviews that we get now days from say Charlie Rose. For now I wouldn't mind hearing these two a bit longer on some of their favorite subjects.

When ever I have a child in my classroom struggling against the odds and challenging my ability as a teacher I am reminded every night on PBS that, that child might one day become a future Tavis Smiley.

I think the fifth chapter of Pope Benedict XVI's Love in Truth is worth discussing. Is there a way in which we can promote the Responsibility to Protect and a democratic World federation?

Peace, Fr. Ben Urmston, S.J.www.xavier.edu/peace-justice/ben.cfm
