I think people need a more personal approach when it comes to doctors. I know i have a doctor which takes care of my problems(prosolution) and he is so nice. He always knows me by name, he's friendly and i gladly attent every meeting.

In Canada we don't have rationing--unless you count waiting for things like knee replacements that take a month or two. The operating rooms take emergencies first, then urgent, elective, and so on. More and more of us are wearing out joints, so some pay for private clinics, like the plastic surgeons have. Dr's will not ration care; it's basic medical ethics. In the very worst cases, they do triage--sorting. But I don't think you mean combat or mass disaster conditions, do you?

Interesting point re: Hermeneutics. I'm a seminary graduate myself, and have often thought that the principles of interpreting the Bible apply equally well to many other aspects of life. It really is amazing how people can take the same text, or the same facts (religious or otherwise), yet come up with entirely opposing interpretations of that data.

Without commenting on the issue in this case, I have to say that I really appreciate it when this kind of a discussion takes place. I'm so frustrated that it seems to be the exception, rather than the rule, these days.

I have to go without watching "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" for 3 weeks, too.

I thought it was funny when Jon tore that page out of her loose-leaf binder and read the words on the page which she said meant something else.

I agreed with Jon's interpretation of the page. Jon must be a speed reader because he is very informed on any book that a guest brings on set or has recently had published.

I took a course in "English Criticism" when I was a grad student at a secular college in the late 1960s. I don't remember the word "hermeneutics" being mentioned in the class; but, when I took the Biblical Hermeneutics, "Interpreting the Bible," course doing post graduate work in Theological and Historical Studies more than 5 years later, I recognized the fact that the literary principles of hermeneutics were taught in that English course.

It is interesting that the people who are most upset about the social health program, Medicare, actually have it and they have Social Security Pensions, too. Unlike those old folks, I look at the real news and read for myself, too. Some people believe that there is only one health-care bill before all of the US Congress when there are several in both houses.

when we run out of money what do you expect will happen. Do you not think that rationing will not happen. seeing how we are seriously in dept now how long will it take for this program to go broke. At some point there will be a group. Why would they not give the elders the lest care. just look at the people around obama now. They have already discussed such things. Its like the abortion. IT will fund abortion because there is nothing in it that says it wont. Its only commen since. and a court rulling about this already stateing if its not stated it cannot be funded or done then it HAS to be aloud. And there has been numerouse try to place a amendment to specifically state it cannot be funded, ALL VOTED DOWN. SO dont tell us we are the ones lying about such issues. we can read between the grey lines and vague wording, we are not stupid.
