Thank you.

I felt the sting of the sexism in the deadly viper drama as well. As Kathy Khang (morethanservingtea.wordpress.com) wrote eloquently, it felt like bringing up the issues of the sexism meant it would "distract" from the issues of racism, and that it wasn't "as necessary."

Like we had to choose between standing up for being a woman and being asian (for kathy) or white anti-racist (me).

Your piece is really appreciated.

Agree. Agree. I believe a component of the grace you desire is a willingness to allow persons who share the journey with us, to walk close with us as partners, and yet be "all over the map" as to where they are with this issue.

I think we need to conceive of the "utopian vision" not as a place and time in which every person is righteous--but rather, where, together, in our weaknesses, brokenness and faults we begin to taste and smell the Kingdom. If we wait for the other person to formulate all the dimensions of this issue in precisely the way that meets all of our requirements we will wait til we die.
